As orphaned youth in southern Africa finish school, they need to find a way forward. Statistics show that a large percentage of orphans aging out of the system, end up in some of the worst situations in our societies. They simply do not have any backing, anyone to turn to and have lost the only safe home they have known. Many are dropped off at night shelters for the homeless after they leave school, as the child-care organisations just do not have the funding, space and mandate to look after them as they grow older.

At Home-Base we work with child-care organisations to provide a hope and a future for these young people. We work with potential funders, tertiary education institutions, churches and other organisations in order to find a way forward for as many children as possible. Our vision is to provide hope and a future for orphaned and vulnerable youth by creating opportunities for further education so that they can reach their full potential.
